The OSCAS Nominees release for 2022 award show

May 26 Gala honors top omaha-area athletes, coaches, teams, moments and personalities

Omaha, Neb. – The finalists for the fourth annual Omaha Sports Commission Awards (The OSCAS), presented by The Lerner Company, have been released. The nominees celebrate another year of athletics in the Omaha area. 

The OSCAS will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Relevant Center in Elkhorn. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by going to omahasports.org/oscas.

Lindsay Toussant, executive director of the Omaha Sports Commission, said OSC is excited to once again recognize the best in Omaha sports achievements during the past year.  

“A selection committee has spent significant time reviewing the sports achievements of the past year and everyone on the finalist list deserves recognition,” Toussant said. “This year we again are inviting the public to go online and vote on each category.”

Public voting is open from May 1-20 at omahasports.org/oscas.

Toussant said The OSCAS also recognize Harrison Phillips as the Dr. Jack Lewis Sports Person of the Year.

“Harrison Phillips’ desire to give back to the community is admirable to many,” Toussant said. “Harrison has shown his character through his volunteerism and is well deserving of this recognition.”

Toussant noted The OSCAS also celebrates the induction of the 2022 Omaha Sports Hall of Fame class of Kimera Bartee, Fred Hare, Joanne Kappas and the 2003 Millard North football team.
